White flakes are known as coffee chaff, which is a natural by-product after roasting. The chaff is a parchment-like layer in the center of a coffee bean that will look like a light tan color flake. When the beans are ground, the chaff will look like lighter specks scattered amongst the coffee. They are safe to brew.
No, there are never additives added to our coffee. Nothing is added to our coffee beans. The flavor notes shown on the store & printed on the coffee bags (i.e. chocolate, fruit, nutty, etc.) refer to the tasting notes that our expert coffee team has identified based on the unique characteristics of each coffee.
Cold brewing may be the best way to avoid acidity. This involves extracting the coffee at a low temperature over a long period of time. We don’t sell a cold brewing system but we have Specialty Coffee blends specifically curated for Cold Brew. Try Comet our Cold Brew Coffee Blend.
We don’t measure the acidity in our coffee, but there are several simple ways to enjoy a smoother cup.
We source our coffee from award-winning heritage farms across India and Pesticide usage varies from farm to farm. We survey annually for proper pesticide usage according to international standards, but we do not test green coffee for pesticide residue as it is not required by Indian regulations.
For customers who are looking for 100% organic or naturally grown coffees, we do offer certified organic coffees sourced from IMO Certified Bio-dynamic Balmaadi Estate located in Nilgiris and The Natural Farmer located in Pulneys both from the State of Tamil Nadu.
